Chief Technology Officer / AI Lead – AI-Native Supply Chain & Logistics Startup

Davidson Tech Recruitment has been mandated to recruit a Chief Technology Officer / AI Lead for their client in Dubai, which is an AI-native supply chain and logistics technology startup developing intelligent platforms to transform logistics, transportation, warehousing and supply-chain operations. The client is seeking an accomplished technology leader with a minimum of 10 years of relevant software engineering and technology experience, strong hands-on expertise in modern AI technologies and proven experience building scalable software platforms within logistics, supply chain, transportation, freight, shipping or related technology environments. The successful candidate will lead the architecture and development of an AI-native logistics platform incorporating intelligent shipment management, demand forecasting, route and network optimisation, warehouse intelligence, inventory planning, freight-document processing, automated customer and supplier communication, exception management and autonomous AI agents capable of executing multi-step operational workflows. Candidates must possess strong technical capabilities in Python, Generative AI, LLMs including OpenAI and Claude, RAG, vector databases, agentic frameworks, machine learning, predictive analytics, optimisation algorithms, APIs, microservices, databases and full-stack software development. Previous experience integrating technology with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP platforms, fleet-management applications, shipment-tracking systems or logistics enterprise software would be particularly valuable. The CTO / AI Lead will work closely with the founders to define the technical strategy, develop the product architecture, establish cloud infrastructure, manage infrastructure costs and scalability, oversee engineering execution and recruit, mentor and lead a team of AI engineers and software developers. Candidates must understand the operational realities of supply-chain businesses, including freight movement, transport capacity, delivery scheduling, warehousing, procurement, inventory management, shipment visibility and supply-chain exceptions. Strong experience with AWS, GCP or Azure, cloud-native architecture, CI/CD, containerisation, cybersecurity, infrastructure dimensioning and production system reliability is required. We are looking for a technically accomplished builder who can independently develop complex AI solutions, make critical architectural decisions and lead engineering teams without losing personal involvement in coding and product development. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering or another relevant technical discipline is required. Candidates must demonstrate previous ownership of production AI or software platforms, preferably within logistics or supply chain, and provide evidence of systems personally developed, engineering teams led and measurable improvements achieved in operational efficiency, cost, speed or service quality. This is a full-time, Dubai-based opportunity to lead the development and commercial scaling of an AI-native logistics technology business.
