Job Description

Davidson Tech Recruitment has been mandated to recruit a Chief Information Officer for their client which is a large insurance organization undertaking significant technology modernization, digital transformation, and enterprise systems development across its insurance operations. We are looking for accomplished technology executives with approximately 18 to 25 years of progressive Information Technology experience, including substantial recent experience as a CIO, Technology Director, Head of Technology, or equivalent senior executive within insurance, financial services, banking, or another highly regulated industry. Direct insurance technology experience would be strongly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record across enterprise technology strategy, core insurance platforms, digital transformation, cloud adoption, cybersecurity, data and analytics, enterprise architecture, IT governance, infrastructure, application modernization, regulatory compliance, and large technology investment programs. The Chief Information Officer will define and execute the enterprise technology strategy and ensure that IT becomes a strategic enabler of underwriting, policy administration, claims, distribution, customer experience, finance, risk, and business growth. Provide executive leadership across core insurance systems, applications, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, data platforms, enterprise architecture, IT operations, service management, and technology governance. Lead modernization of policy administration, claims management, underwriting, CRM, customer portals, mobile applications, APIs, payment systems, and integration with brokers, partners, healthcare providers, or other ecosystem participants depending on the organization's insurance portfolio. Drive digital transformation initiatives designed to improve straight-through processing, claims turnaround times, underwriting efficiency, customer experience, operational automation, and cost efficiency while evaluating the responsible application of AI, Machine Learning, analytics, and intelligent automation within insurance operations. Establish robust cybersecurity, disaster recovery, data protection, technology risk, and regulatory compliance frameworks. Own the technology budget, major capital investments, strategic vendors, outsourcing arrangements, technology procurement, and Board-level reporting while building and leading a high-performance technology organization capable of supporting the insurer's long-term commercial strategy.
